We have the first week of school in the books! We started August 17th with excitement and a plan. Wyatt began 7th grade and Josie began 3rd grade. We celebrated with donuts from the Coffee Shop and chocolate milk! YUM!
We had a solid and consistent week. We finished school and chores everyday by lunch! Yeah! We took Friday off and will as long as we are doing well. I am impressed with how well everyone is doing. Though we are starting behind in some areas and ahead in others we are steadfast and confident that the year will be a good one. We start at 9:00. Everyone is dressed and ready, 9:00 Let’s Rock!
Wyatt has been working on his Bible memory, finishing up Teaching Textbooks 6, Life of Fred, All About Spelling, Notgrass American History Vol. 2, Moody Institute Science DVDs, and is reading up a storm! Pretty soon I want to introduce IEW for writing.
Josie is doing the Big Picture Interactive Story Bible right now, Teaching Textbooks 3, Life of Fred, Math That Sticks, Explode the Code, Bob Books, McGuffey Reader and All About Reading, All About Spelling, Story of the World, Moody Institute Science DVDs.
Both are doing science together and we will read World News Magazine for Kids too together. Betsie and Ethan are doing good to play. Betsie likes watching the Leap Frog Word Factory DVD so she is learning some as well!
Donuts and chocolate milk were the perfect end to a great first day! Here’s to a sweet year to come!
